Obituary of Brian Osborne
Rondal “Brian” Osborne, age 68, of Independence, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood, KY. He was a retired Vice President of Vonderharr, Stetter-Betz Funeral Home in Newport, KY and a member of Ashland Avenue Baptist Church in Covington, KY. A 1969 graduate of Simon Kenton High School and a 1971 graduate of the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, Brian had also worked as a Funeral Director and Embalmer for Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Homes, a Family Care Advisor for Forest Lawn Cemetery, and a Long-Term Care Ombudsman for the State of Kentucky. He was a former member of the Newport Optimist Club, the former President of the Campbell County Historical Society, a former member and President of the Northern Kentucky Funeral Directors Association, and a former President of the Senior Advocacy Commission.
He enjoyed reading, learning, watching movies and caring for his pets. His parents, Rondal and Agnes Osborne; sister, Sherry Compton; and brother-in-law, Melvin Hickey preceded him in death. He is survived by his sister, Arleen Osborne Hickey; brother-in-law, Eddie Compton; aunts, Virginia Atherton and Janice Grubbs; nephews, Mike Hickey (Michelle) and Kevin Hickey (Beth); niece, Michele Martin (Brian); three great nieces; four great nephews; one great-great niece; and one great-great nephew.
Visitation will be Monday, December 16, 2019, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with services immediately following at 1 p.m. at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence, KY. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Erlanger KY.
