Obituary of James Henson Wethington
James Henson Wethington, age 78, of Erlanger, KY (formerly of Morning View, KY) passed away Friday, January 31, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, KY. Jim retired in 2006 from the University of Cincinnati, where he worked in Emergency Maintenance. His lifetime passion was hot rods, especially his 1932 Ford Pickup. Starting in 2008, he fought a courageous battle with multiple myeloma enduring more than 11 years of chemotherapy. When first diagnosed he made the decision to live, rather than to die, facing each challenge with a positive attitude. His father, George Chester Wethington; son, Matthew Casey Wethington; and grandson, PJ Remenowsky preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife (of 47 years), Charlotte Smoot Wethington; children, Alice Wethington Sturgeon and Debi Wethington Harris (Daryl); mother, Beulah Henson Wolf; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A memorial remembrance will be held graveside at 2 p.m. at Spring Grove Cemetery on Sunday, October 11, 2020. Those wishing to attend should plan to meet just inside the main entrance of Spring Grove Cemetery at 1:45 p.m., then a procession will take place to the grave.
