Obituary of Frank Michael Lewandowski
Frank Michael Lewandowski, age 82, of Florence, KY passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at St Elizabeth Hospital in Florence. He was born the son of the late Michael and Helen (Wach) Lewandowski on December 4, 1937 in Depew, NY.
Frank was a parishioner of St Paul’s Catholic Church where he loved to volunteer. He graduated from Mohawk Valley Community College with an Associate’s Degree where he played on their baseball team. Frank lived in various places across the United States working as a regional manager for McGraw Hill. He was a master bird watcher and member of the National Audubon Society. Frank was very proud of his Polish heritage, but was a loyal American and a true patriot, who proudly served his country in the US Army while stationed in Alaska. He will be remembered for always waking up in the morning with a song, having a great sense of humor, and most of all his love for his grandchildren.
Frank is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marlene (Holovics) Lewandowski who was his high school sweetheart; five children, Frank (Jill) Lewandowski, Michael (Nilu) Lewandowski, Mark (Katie) Lewandowski, Mary (Joe) Baum, and Ann (Scott) Pragar; brother, Ernie Lewandowski; 8 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 21, 2020 from 6:00PM until 9:00PM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 8461 Dixie Hwy, Florence, KY 41042. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 11:00AM at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 7301 Dixie Hwy, Florence, KY 41042. Military honors will take place following mass. Burial will take place at a later date at KY Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown.
