Shelly, her sister Julie, me, and my sister Ginia have been the best of friends since we were 5 or 6 years old. We've had some of the greatest times of our lives together entertaining ourselves when there wasn't cable TV or the internet. We put on plays that we made up, made mud pies, rode bikes, caught lightning bugs, and ate Eskimo pies (among other things). When we were older, we snuck out of the house and did things that teenagers do, but we were all good kids. Shelly was the funny one and always made us laugh and had the biggest smile. She could tell any story and have you rolling on the floor. As we became adults and had families of our own, we didn't see each other as much but no matter how long we were apart, whenever we saw each other, we were as close as ever, as if we'd never been apart. Shelly was always there for our family and she always had a big heart and a big smile on her face even in troubled times. She saw the good in everyone and could find ways to be positive even when things weren't going her way. I will never forget you Shelly and I consider you my sister. I know we will see you again and you will make us laugh.
My deepest sympathy to Mike, Matt, Lindsey, Julie, Linda, Granny Bowen, and all of Shelly's family.
Love Always,
Missy
