Obituary of Elsie Finnell

Elsie Delores Neuspickle Finnell, age 83, of Stamping Ground, previously of Morning View, died Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at Georgetown Community Hospital, Georgetown, KY. She was a homemaker, a member of Staffordsburg United Methodist Church, a Kentucky Colonel and she enjoyed cross stitching. Mrs. Finnell served in many civic and fraternal organizations including as the Past Royal Grand Matron of the Order of Amaranth Queen Esther Court, Past National Councilor for the Daughters of America (Kenton Council No. 9), member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Bradford Star No. 439 founding member, and a member of the Kenton Volunteer Fire Department and Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Ralph W. Finnell; sons, Wallace (Debra) Finnell of Burlington, Gregory (Debra) Finnell of Evans, GA, and Eric (Tammy) Finnell of Stamping Ground; grandchildren, Amy Finnell, Adam Finnell, Christopher Finnell, Kimberly Finnell, and Amanda Howie; great grandchildren, Natalie Frasure, Emily Frasure, Colin Murphy, and Brady Finnell; and nieces, Linda Smith Skelton and Brenda Smith Shaw. Her sister, Garnette Neuspickle Smith preceded her in death.
Visitation will be Monday, December 12, 2011 from 5pm to 8pm at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence. Funeral Service will be Tuesday at 11am at the funeral home. Interment will be at Independence Cemetery.
