Billy hugs are life changing , no matter how bad / sad I felt ,one big bear hug and to see his smile it just literally felt like everything is going to be alright !
I think to myself why did he have to go so soon , then I remember how he cheated death two times in one week . First time her called in sick at the plant where he worked . That same morning the plant caught on fire and blew up the crane he would have been sitting in if he went that morning .
That weekend he was at our camp and it was getting late ,so I was driving him in my boat back to the boat launch , when my steering cable popped and we crashed into the trees . He flew on the floor of my boat , I held on to throttle and shoved it into neutral and we slowed down enough not to crash hard . Billy said I must be the luckiest man alive , then he said God I don’t know what you spared me for but thanks !!!
I don’t think he took life for granted, he enjoyed every day he could . He always wanted to help when he came to camp , fix this or that ect. I even caught him helping washing the crawfish , he got a pinched a few times but didn’t give up .
