Obituary of Darryl Ray Weaver

     Darryl Ray Weaver, of Independence, KY passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospice Center in Edgewood, KY after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at the age of 73.

     He was born in Campbell County, KY on September 4, 1947; the son of the late Jesse and Frances Weaver. Darryl loved to work, especially tending to his farm. In his spare time, he often enjoyed hunting and fishing as was a part of the Kentucky Beagle Club. His greatest joy, however, came from spending time with his beloved daughters and grandchildren who meant the world to him.

     Darryl was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Brenda Weaver and his son, Michael Weaver.

     Those left to cherish Darryl’s memory and carry on his legacy include his loving daughters, Jennifer (Reggie) Cheek, Amy (Jason) Thacker, Jamie (Dennis) Thomas, Denise (Willie Scharf) Coghill and Darla (Ben) Scharf; grandchildren, Samantha (Derek) Lambert, Jordan, Gabrielle, Tawana, Dominick, Mackenzie (Dylan), Mason (Destiny), Carlee, Jerry, Logan, Jayden, Hunter, Brantley and Ben Jr.; great-grandchildren, Jagger, Emery, Jace, Hayden and Blakeleigh; nephews, Jeff Razor and Wayne Razor; four legged faithful companions, Baby Girl and Penny;  as well as many other close relatives and friends.

     A visitation for Darryl will be held from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM on Monday, September 14, 2020 at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 45 North Main Street, Walton, KY 41094. Due to the current Covid-19 state restrictions, we will be limiting the funeral home’s occupancy to 50% of normal capacity while still enforcing 6 feet of social distancing, temperature checks and requiring the wearing of face masks by all that enter the building. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.

     In keeping with Darryl’s wishes, he will be cremated and then laid to rest next to his wife at Evergreen Cemetery in Southgate, KY.
