Obituary of Gerald Lee Davis
Gerald Lee Davis, age 70, of Independence, KY, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2020 at his residence. He was a retired heavy equipment operator for Local IUOE Union #18, the former proprietor of M & J Paving and a proud United States Army Veteran. He enjoyed being outside, mowing grass, and spending time with his family. Gerald was preceded in death by his son, Eric Davis, father, Thomas Edward Davis, mother, Wanda Joyce Dixon Davis, brother, Michael “Mickey” Davis, and sister, Mary Evelynn Davis. He is survived by his wife (of 47 years) Debra Mullins Davis; children, Leigh Ellen Davis, Lisa Ann Davis (Steve), Nicholas Howard Davis (Renee), and Quentin Davis (Mandy); brothers, John Davis and Stanley Davis (Pam); and grandchildren, Matthew Davis, Brooke Kunstman, Ryann Davis, Taylor Davis, Zoey Davis, Paxton Davis, and Kendall Davis. His visitation will be held Tuesday, September 22, 2020 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. Due to the current Covid-19 state restrictions, the funeral home’s occupancy will be limited to 50% of normal capacity while still encouraging 6 feet of social distancing and requiring the wearing of face maskes. A committal service with military honors will be held Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at 11AM at the Davis Family Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the D.A.V.
