I spent a lot of time with Mr. Freeman as his student and a member of the Gifted and Talented program, but as a teacher's kid it's hard to remember a time when I didn't know Mr. Freeman! Looking back I am appreciative of the time he devoted to creating these wonderful experiences for his students. I'm truly saddened to hear of his passing and extend heartfelt sympathy to his family.

Rachel, my deepest condolences to you and your entire family. Your dad was one of my very favorite teachers. I always looked forward to his class. I’ll never forget him giving me advice for looking my best at prom. And I still have the tie dyed tshirt I made in his class. He certainly made learning fun. Wishing you peace and comfort during this difficult time.

I’m deeply sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. My most heart-felt condolences to Rachael, John and children. I taught at WVHS with Bill for many years, and I don’t think I ever met anyone more committed to teaching than he was. We served on various committees together and worked on projects, such as the gifted and talented program. Bill was always positive, inventive, insightful, and tremendously generous. But what I’ll remember about him most, I guess, is his terrific sense of humor. I never was around Bill for more than a few minutes, no matter what the occasion, before he had me laughing. It’s hard to do that today, I know, although I suspect that’s exactly what he would like. The world definitely needs more Bill Freemans in it. Good-bye, old friend.

It is with deep sadness that I learned of Bill’s passing. I remember in January 1988 when Bill was my mentor during my internship at Walton-Verona HS. I taught Rachel, John, and his grandchildren. I will be forever grateful to him for his kindness, wisdom, and advice. He will be sadly missed but will be remembered forever in my heart. I send my condolences to each and everyone’s lives he touched.
With deepest sympathy, Kim Benne

I worked with Bill at SK & remember when we did the faculty murder mystery play. He was the character who was killed off in the beginning. And 'Character' is certainly a great description for Bill. I enjoyed many a cocktail, solving the world's problems. He was such a wonderful human being & I send my love and condolences to his friends and family.

Mr. Freeman was my Chemistry teacher at Simon Kenton. I remember I was having a hard time in my teenage life while in his class and he was always so compassionate and understanding. Such a loving sweet person. I will remember him forever.
