Obituary of Dr. Wayne L. Barnard

Dr. Wayne L. Barnard, age 86, of Canton, OH (formerly of Edgewood, KY) passed away, Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Mercy Medical in Canton, OH.  Dr. Barnard was a Presbyterian Pastor for over 40 years, including a pastorate at First Presbyterian Church in Covington, KY, as well as churches in North Dakota, New York, Pennsylvania, Iowa, Illinois, and Ohio. 

He was a music enthusiast and especially enjoyed barbershop quartets, southern gospel and classical music.  Dr. Barnard also enjoyed reading, cooking, eating out and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. 

He is survived by his loving wife (of over 57 years), Mercedes “Marcy” Barnard; children, Carrie McDonald (Tony), Audrey Jett (Gerald), Diane Lehn (Mark), and Sarah Barnard; sister, Mary Lou Largent; and grandchildren, Brandon, Garrison, Mary, Mark, Tim, and Sam. 

Visitation will be Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon with the funeral service to immediately follow at 12 noon at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 8461 Dixie Highway, Florence, KY 41042. 

Due to current Covid-19 state restrictions, face masks will be mandatory to attend and six feet of social distancing will be required.  Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
