Obituary of Mary Chiknas Gerros

     Mary Gerros, 94, of Union, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at her home.  Mary was born in Haverhill, MA to the late Stavros and Catherine Chiknas on June 21, 1926.  Mary was a homemaker for most of her life.  She enjoyed spending her time gardening and baking Greek pastries.  Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her beloved family.  Mary was a very forgiving woman who never held a grudge and will be greatly missed.

     In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Carl Gerros.  Survived to mourn her loss are her daughters, Cathy G. (Tom) Schmitz and Carla (Jeff) Child; son, Terry (Susan) Gerros; 9 grandchildren, Michael (Jamie) Schmitz, TJ (Connie) Schmitz, Katie (Mark) Decker, Sarah Jane (Josh Vogel) Hebler, Hannah Zoie Hebler, Jesse Lynn (Matthew Barnard) Self, Samuel (Allana) Gerros, Cole Gerros and William Gerros; 11 great- grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends who were very much like family.

     A funeral service will be held privately at the convenience of the family.  Mary will be laid to rest next to her husband at Highland Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, KY.  Due to current Covid-19 state restrictions, face masks will be mandatory to attend and six feet of social distancing will be required.  Memorial Donations can be made to the Holy Trinity-St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 700 Winton Rd.
