Obituary of Katherine M. Hollingsworth

     Katherine M. Hollingsworth passed away in the care of her daughter at home on December 15, 2020 at the glorious age of 80.

     She was born in Covington, KY on August 25, 1940; the daughter of the late Edward and Rosemary Schuette. Katherine was a homemaker and relished the opportunity of being a mother to her children. In her spare time, she often enjoyed taking walks, sewing, gardening, and baking. Her greatest joy, however, came from spending time with her beloved family who she cherished dearly.

     Preceding her in death are her parents, her loving husband, Joseph E. Hollingsworth, and her brother John Schuette.

     Those left surviving to carry on Katherine’s legacy include her daughters, Gina Koch (Dan) and Cheryl Walsh (Dan); sons, David Hollingsworth (Unji), Andy Hollingsworth (Lisa), Dustin Hollingsworth (Heather) and Gary Hollingsworth (Teresa); sister, Janet Cahill (Ray); brothers, Edward Schuette and George Schuette (Mary Jean); sister-in-law Ann Schuette, 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; as well as many other close relatives and friends.

     The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Bluegrass Navigators for their special care of Katherine; especially Barb, Marta, Leanne, Paula, Dawn and Chawnte.

     Due to the current Covid restrictions, face masks will be mandatory, social distancing is encouraged, and capacity will be limited to 50% occupancy.

     A visitation for Katherine will be held from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. A Catholic Blessing will be held at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Katherine will be laid to rest and reunited with her husband at Independence Cemetery, 5358 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051.
