Obituary of Harold Douglas Brautigan
Harold Douglas Brautigan, age 81, of Independence, KY, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ft. Thomas, KY. He was a retired Auditor for CSX Railroad and a member and Deacon at First Baptist Church in Cold Spring, KY. Harold enjoyed following UK sports, golfing, eating out, church activities and spending time with the “Independence Morning Club” each day at McDonald’s. He was a life-time member of the UK Alumni Association, a member of the Bradford Masonic Lodge, and a Kentucky Colonel. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and was a dedicated husband and father. His parents, Norbert and Helen Jones Brautigan and brothers, James Brautigan, Donald Brautigan, and Wayne Brautigan all preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife (of 61 years), Donna Lee Hall Brautigan; daughter, Gwen Brautigan; sisters, Myrna Murphy and Wanda Marino (Ron); and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday, December 21, 2020 from 12 noon to 1:45 p.m. with a Masonic service beginning at 1:45 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Cold Spring, 4410 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, KY 41076. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. at the church. Due to the current Covid restrictions, face masks must be worn, social distancing is encouraged, and 50% capacity will be permitted in the building. Interment will be at Independence Cemetery.
