Obituary of Ronald Dean Riddell

     Ronald Dean Riddell (Bub), of Latonia, KY, age 82 passed away at home after a brief yet courageous battle with cancer. 

     Survived by his beloved wife of 22 years Betty, his children Ron (Kim) Riddell  of Green , OH, Jeff Riddell of Mérida, Mexico, Jill (Chris) Bellone of New Orleans, LA, Randy (Shelli) Riddell of Sacramento, CA.  and Betty’s children Larry (Susan) Morgan of Wyoming, OH and Jerry (Karry) Morgan of Blacksburg, SC. He is also survived by his siblings June (Bobby) Williams of Independence, KY, Billy (Linda) Riddell of Mineola, TX and Sue (Bobby) Gouge of Dry Ridge, KY and numerous grandchildren, great children, nieces and nephews. Bub is preceded in death by his son, Rodney Riddell and his sister, Gayle (Buzz) McClure.  

     Bub served in the United States Army stationed in Germany and Fort Hood, TX. He was a retired truck driver, which served him well as he and Betty traversed the country visiting family spread far and wide.  Bub was a longtime member of the 1469 Moose lodge. His favorite hobbies included showing off Bessie, his 1930 Model A coupe convertible and traveling. Bub played a mean game of scrabble and later mastered the iPad with Words with Friends. His keen sense of humor and kind heart will be missed by so many. In honor of Bub’s wife, the family wishes memorial contributions be made to the Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation at ALZinfo.org or my mail, FDR station, P.O.      A visitation for Bub will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Reverend Jay Holt will preside over the service. He will be laid to rest with military honors at Independence Cemetery, 5358 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051.

     Due to the current Covid restrictions, face masks will be mandatory, social distancing is encouraged, and capacity will be limited to 50% occupancy.
