Obituary of Richard Lee King

Richard “Sonny” L. King, 80, of Erlanger passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021.

Richard was a proud US Army Veteran who was an avid fan of UK basketball, the Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals.  He loved working puzzles, eating out, going fishing and most of all, spending time with his family.  Richard also loved vacationing to Sanibel Island, Florida and finding seashells to add to his collection.  In his younger years he enjoyed being active; especially, bowling, golfing and playing softball.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda King; and son-in-law, Steven “Steve” H. Collins.

Richard is survived by his daughters, Deanna Collins and Sherri Gault; grandchildren: Kaylyn N. Clark (Chris), Austin “AJ” Collins, Steven “Hunter” Collins and Brandi N. Borgemenke (Billy); great-grandchildren: Karsyn N. Clark, Cheyenne R. Borgemenke and Cody W. Borgemenke; and sisters, Alice “Cookie” Siefert and Carolyn Feldkamp.

A committal service will be held at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North, 205 Eibeck Ln, Williamstown, KY 41097 on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 12:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.
