Obituary of Charles W. "Hunky" Holder
Charles W. “Hunky” Holder, age 94, of Covington, KY (formerly of Walton, KY) passed away Friday, January 29, 2021 at Providence at Kenton in Covington, KY. He was a retired Class A Lineman for Cincinnati Gas & Electric, a member of Walton Christian Church, a member of the Walton Masonic Lodge, a World War II Navy Veteran and a member of the Walton American Legion. “Hunky” was the last member of the 1942 Walton Verona High School State Tournament Team and loved watching U.K. basketball. Most all, Hunky enjoyed his visits and time with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maida St. Clair Holder, his parents, Charles Deneen Holder and Ruth Bowman Holder Hall, step-father, Russell Hall, and his brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Inky Hall. Survivors include his sons, Charlie Holder (Cindy) and Bob Holder (Dawn); grandchildren, Larry Gilliam, Jr. (Velda), Christa Zmurk (Mike), Robert J. Holder, Zachary Holder (Katlyn), and Travis Holder (Katie); ten great grandchildren; and one great great grandson. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 3, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the funeral services immediately following at 1 p.m. at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home at 45 North Main Street, Walton, KY 41094. Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, face masks are required, social distancing is encouraged, and 50% capacity will be limited at the funeral home.
