Obituary of Iona "Onie" Napier

     Iona “Onie” Napier of Williamstown, age 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Rosedale Green in Covington, KY. She was born in Falmouth, KY on February 6, 1930 to the late Charles and Florence Yelton. Onie retired as a Cashier from Cherokee IGA and was a longtime member of Lawrenceville Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, reading, doing word puzzles, and traveling. Most of all, Onie loved to go fishing. Onie’s warming heart will be missed beyond measure.

     In addition to her parents, Onie is preceded in death by her husband, Dan Napier and her sons, Robert Napier and Harold Douglas Napier. Survived to mourn her loss are her loving daughters, Linda Ledford, Barbara (Ray) Calvin, and Beverly (Rodney) Ballard; daughter-in-law, Kathy Napier; beloved grandchildren, Shannon (Aaron) Herrington, Jared Binder, Britni (Jonathan) Colwell, Zac (Kati Elliott) Ballard, Wes (Tara) Ballard, Tara (Rob) Wilson, and Jolynn (Chris) Miller; 14 great-grandchildren; and many other friends and relatives who will cherish her memory.

     A visitation will be held on Friday July 2, 2021 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM, at the funeral home. Following the service, Onie will be laid to rest next to her husband at Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, KY.
