Obituary of Lewis Dean Wolfinbarger, Sr.

     Lewis D. Wolfinbarger, Sr. of Morning View, KY passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at his residence on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at the glorious age of 87.

     He was born in Estelle County, KY on March 19, 1934; the son of the late Virgil and Ocie Wolfinbarger. Lewis worked on the railroad as a supervisor for Fruit Growers Express and worked as a self-employed carpenter. He was also a longtime member of the Wilmington Masonic Lodge Post #362, Scottish Rite and Eastern Star.

     Preceding Lewis in death were his parents; his faithful and devoted wife, Charlene Wolfinbarger and his grandson, Wrangler Gentry.

     Those left surviving to carry on Lewis’ memory and legacy include his sons, Dean (Cindy) Wolfinbarger, Rick (Doris) Wolfinbarger and John Wolfinbarger; daughters, Michele (Tim) Gentry, Lisa (Jeff) Gross and Mary (Robert) Winterman; sister, Ailene Gabbard; brother, Bill (Maxi) Wolfinbarger; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; as well as many other close relatives and friends who are now emptier upon his passing.

     A visitation celebrating Lewis’ life will take place from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. Immediately following, a Masonic service will be held at 12:00 PM, followed by Lewis’ funeral service. Lewis will then be laid to rest beside his loving wife at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Taylor Mill, KY.

     Expressions of sympathy in Lewis’ name may be given to the Wilmington Masonic Lodge #362, 33 Sidney Drive, Independence, KY 41051.
