Obituary of Robert Clay Moore

     Robert C. “Bob” Moore, of Florence, KY passed away after many years of battling cancer at St. Elizabeth Hospice Center on Monday, July 5, 2021 at the age of 73.

     He was born in Georgetown, KY on October 30, 1947; the son of the late John and Dorothy Moore. Bob was an Army veteran having served during the Vietnam War and had been stationed in Germany. Once back in the states, Bob worked his entire career managing grocery stores including IGA and Remke’s and even after retiring drove a shuttle bus at the airport. He has an insatiable work ethic and was always looking for something to do. When Bob did have free time, he often spent it rummaging at yard sales and being around his grandchildren, who he cherished deeply.

     Preceding Bob in death were his parents and his loving wife, Dorothy Moore.

     Those left surviving to carry on Bob’s legacy include his children, Robert Moore and Angie (Dave) Collins; sisters, Pat, Charlotte, Kathy, Judy and Rita, sister-in-law, Dovie Noel; grandchildren, Tiffany (Matt Honshell) Moore, Alexis (Brandon) Dyer, Sam (Danielle) Collins and Logan (Ryann) Collins; great-grandchildren, Jadyn, Landon, Matthew, Elsie, Henry, Kamryn and Ryleigh; as well as many other close relatives and friends who are now emptier upon his passing.

     A visitation celebrating Bob’s life will take place from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Monday, July 12, 2021 at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 8461 Dixie Highway, Florence, KY 41042. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Bob will then be reunited with his wife and laid to rest with full military honors at Burlington Cemetery.
