Obituary of Emma May Mullins

Emma May Fisk Mullins, age 94, of Independence, KY, passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Hospice Center in Edgewood, KY.  She was a retired Receptionist for Levi Straus and the oldest living member of the First Baptist Church in Independence.  Emma was a dedicated employee before she retired, having never missed a day of work.  She enjoyed baking, sewing, quilting, and visiting with family.  After her retirement, she served as a caretaker for several family members and friends.  Her husband (of 68 years), Ellis Earl “Buzz” Mullins preceded her in death.  She was also preceded in death by her eldest son, Larkin Earl Mullins, parents, John and Eda Belle Fisk, brothers, Lloyd Fisk, John Fisk, and Paul Fisk; and sisters, Norma Beckett and Goldie Fisk.  She is survived by her sons, John Paul Mullins and Rex Dean Mullins; siblings, Rosie Mobley, Delores Adams, Helen Crowder (Gilbert), and Dori Jones; grandchildren, Shelley Meier (Bill), Chris Mullins (Sherry), Scott Mullins, and Zachary Thyberg; seven great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.  A graveside service will be Monday, July 19, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Wilmington Baptist Church Cemetery.  Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence is assisting the family.  Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Independence, 11659 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051.  For directions or to leave the family a message of condolence, please go to www.chambersandgrubbs.com.
