Obituary of Sandy Sims

     Sandra Irene Sims of Latonia, age 62, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 16, 2021 while surrounded by her loving family. Sandy was born in Cincinnati, OH on March 15, 1959 to the late Joseph and Lydia Milburn. She worked as a pharmacy technician and later retired as a supervisory clerk for the IRS. Sandy enjoyed quilting, reading, and crafts. She also had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. Most of all, Sandy loved spending time with her family.

     In addition to her parents, Sandy is preceded in death by her husband, Dennie Sims; siblings, Thomas Milburn and Sam Milburn; and her brother-in-law, Edwin Macvicar. Survivors include her loving daughters, Helena Mockbee and Trinity Sims; sisters, Jackie Macvicar, Jo Ann (Randy) Deaton, and Telisa (Robert) Whalen; beloved grandchildren, Brittany Sims, Anthony Mockbee, Lydia Mockbee, and Mateo Thomas; great-grandson, Roxas Mockbee; many nieces and nephews; as well as many other friends and family members who will miss Sandy beyond measure.

     A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021 from 2:00PM until 4:00PM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. The funeral service will begin at 4:00PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Sandy’s name to St. Elizabeth Hospice, 483 S Loop Rd, Edgewood, KY 41017.
