Obituary of Mary Drusilla Ruf-Brunker

     Mary Drusilla Ruf-Brunker, a longtime resident of Walton, KY passed away after complications from surgery on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, KY at the glorious age of 87.

     She was born in Corinth, KY on September 11, 1933; the daughter of the late Norman and Myrtle Hammond. Mary worked and retired after 38 years of dedicated service for First Federal Bank and was currently attending Walton United Methodist Church. In her free time, Mary often enjoyed reading and babysitting children.

     Preceding Mary in death were her first husband, Elwood Ruf; second husband, Elmer Green; third husband, C.L. Brunker and her only son, Ricky Ruf.

     Those left surviving to carry on Mary’s legacy include her two loving daughters, Connie (Charles) Franklin and Kimberly (Dave) Ruf; daughter-in-law, Gail Ruf; grandchildren, Daniel, Lacey and Cassandre; great-grandchildren, Jaxton, Brody and Lincoln; as well as many other relatives and friends who are now emptier upon her passing. 

     A visitation celebrating Mary’s wonderful life will take place from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Monday, August 30, 2021 at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 45 North Main Street, Walton, KY 41094. A funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home. Mary will then be laid to rest at Walton Cemetery in Walton, KY. Memorial donations can be made to the family in care of Chambers and Grubbs to go towards the purchase of a headstone for Mary.
