Obituary of William "Willie" Burch

     William “Willie” Burch, age 62, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 26, 2021. He was born the son of the late Harvey Tye and Ida (Hensley) Burch on September 1, 1958 in Clay County, KY.

     Willie was the proud owner of Burch Sheet Metal in Walton, KY. He loved listening to Bluegrass music and could always be found having breakfast every morning with his friends at Family’s Main Street Restaurant. Willie’s greatest pride was his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved to curl up with grandchildren and eat ice cream. Willie will be remembered as a friendly, hardworking, and loving husband, father, and papaw.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Eugene Burch, Joyce Vice, Dennis Burch, and Gracie Burch; grandma, Joyce Gibson; and mother-in-law, Carol Hyland.

     Willie is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Carolyn (Hyland) Burch; his two children, Curtis (Kelly) Burch and Gwen (Dan) Slater; grandchildren, Francis Slater and Ida Carol Slater; siblings, Arnold Burch, Glen Burch, Gwen Geotz, Sylvia Curry, and Leatta Ball; brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy Hyland, Jimbo Hyland, and Kathy Patton; and many nieces and nephews.

     Visitation will be held on Monday, August 30, 2021 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 45 N Main St, Walton KY 41094. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at 10:00am at All Saints Catholic Church, 62 Needmore St, Walton, KY 41094.
