Rick Sester

Obituary of Rick Sester

Please share a memory of Rick to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Rick Sester, age 59, of Walton, KY departed this earth too soon on September 1, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood, KY.  Rick was born October 10, 1961 to Kay Sester and Nancy Reed Grubb in Cincinnati, OH.

Before his retirement Rick worked as a Union Local 105 Boilermaker in Piketon, Ohio. He loved drag racing and working on his hot rods, especially his favorite racecar, Misery’s Child. If Rick wasn’t at the drag way, he could be found spending time with his grandchildren whom he adored. Rick will be remembered as a strong, stubborn, loving husband, son, father, and grandfather with an infectious smile that could light up a room.

Preceding Rick in death were his fathers, Kay Sester and Lester Grubb; uncles Mark Dean and Chet Roark; and father-in-law and mother-in-law Frank and Trudy Feinauer.

Those left to carry on Rick’s legacy and tell his story are his loving wife of 40 years, Linda Sester; children, Michael Sester (Connie), Pamela Arrasmith (Robby), Joseph Sester (Kaci), Nikki Thiessen (Christian); grandchildren, Madeline, Colson, Coby, Clara, Jack, Shelby, and Charlie (along with one more little nugget on the way); mother, Nancy Grubb; brother, David Sester; sister, Sondra Sester Addy; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A visitation to gather and support one another will be held on Tuesday, September 7th, 2021 at Community Family Church, 11875 Taylor Mill Rd, Independence, KY 41051.  Rick’s family will receive guests from 4:30-6:30 PM.  A funeral service honoring Rick’s life will follow directly after at 6:30PM. Rick will be laid to rest the next day, Wednesday, September 8th, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Independence Cemetery, 5358 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. Due to COVID-19 precautions, masks will be provided at the church but are not required.
