Obituary of Vera Iretta Batton

     Vera Iretta Batton of Walton, age 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Lakeridge Acres in Cincinnati, OH. She was born in Gallatin County, KY on May 7, 1942 to the late Floyd and Ernestine Densler. Vera retired after 20 years as a manager for Woolworth. She also worked as a hairdresser for 15 years at her sister’s beauty shop. Vera enjoyed reading and was a member of the Eastern Star. Most of all, she enjoyed keeping up with her nieces and nephews. Vera was a wonderful aunt and sister who will be missed beyond measure.

     In addition to her parents, Vera is preceded in death by her siblings, Charles Densler, Bill Densler, Raymond Densler, Ronald Densler, James Densler, Claud Densler, Katherine Flynn, Edith “Jo” Shumate, Barbara Michael, and Shirley Kincaid.

     Survivors include her loving brother and sister Mary Chambers and Daniel (Glenna) Densler; many nieces and nephews; as well as other friends and relatives who will cherish her memory.

     A visitation will be held on Monday, September 27, 2021, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 45 North Main St., Walton, KY  41094. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Brother David Wiggins will officiate the service.
