Obituary of Bruce Conover
Bruce William Conover, 72, of Independence, KY, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2021. He was an only child to Charles Raymond Conover and Vera Mae (Neu) Jump both deceased. Bruce was married to his high school sweetheart Kathy Lee (Morgan) for 52 years.
Bluegrass music fed his soul. He enjoyed going to music festivals, Broadway theater and other performances. Bruce camped with friends and family and then travelled via cruise ships after retirement from Duke Energy. In his earlier years he had a passion for knives, guns, and fishing. He was a provider and educator to his family. He would always follow a word of wisdom with "mark that down in your book." Bruce found pleasure in jewelry design and collecting wildlife and landscape art.
In addition to Kathy, Bruce is survived by his daughter, Kristen Rae Conover, son Kevin Richard Conover (Donté Evans), siblings-in-law, Jim Brockman, Judy (Morgan) and Cal Huffman, Richard and Marilyn Morgan, Beth (Morgan) and Steve Cumbie, Anita (Morgan) and Jeff Howard, and stepsister Besty (Conover) Huhn. He is preceded in death by sister-in-law, Linda (Morgan) Brockman.
Visitation will be held at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051 on Sunday, October 24, 2021 between 2:00PM-4:30PM with Masonic Service to follow from 4:30PM until 5:00PM. A private family burial will be on Monday. Per CDC guidelines unvaccinated adults should wear a face covering in all public places, therefore all unvaccinated attendees will be required to wear a face covering during the visitation.
