Obituary of Katie Hubbs

     Katie Hubbs, age 75, of Independence, KY passed away on November 3, 2021 at her home. She was born the daughter of the late Samuel and Susie (Raleigh) Deaton on Aug 11, 1946 in Whick, KY.

     Katie was a member of Community Family Church where she served as a teacher in the Missionettes for many years. Her favorite things were thrift shopping, yard sales, and DIY projects. She had such a kind and generous spirit. Katie was always good for a laugh or putting a smile on your face. She will be greatly missed by her family whom she loved dearly.

     In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, George and Clarence Deaton.

     Katie is survived by her husband, Earl Hubbs; her children, George Wollam, Alicia Schwartz (Todd), Susan Slusher (Charles), and Mary Hubbs; grandchildren, Kimberly, Amanda, Dustin, Logan, Katelynd Coe, Samantha Jo, David, Timmy, and Samuel; great grandchildren, Kenyail, De’Mario, and A’Mariyon; siblings, Sinda Faye Beckelhymer, Pearlie Zipp, and Donald Joe Deaton.

     Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 from 11:00AM until time of service at 1:00PM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home,11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. Burial will follow at Independence Cemetery.
