Obituary of William Bill Stambaugh
William “Bill” Stambaugh of Demossville, passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Edgewood. Bill was born in Mayslick, Kentucky on July 17, 1941 to Ernest and Mildred (Tuel) Stambaugh. He was raised in Covington, KY, and graduated from Holmes High School.
Bill was a retired Kenton County Police Officer of 22 years, a KY State Police Officer for 5 years, and a member of the FOP #20. He was an Arson Investigator and Independence firefighter. Bill was a member of Masonic Lodge #220, Scottish Rite, and was one of the proud founders of the Squires Car Club. Bill’s bravery and toughness lead him to have a successful career in serving his community. He also took pride in having escorted the 1981 Simon Kenton Boys Basketball team from Walton to Independence after their victory at the State Championship.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Deborah Stambaugh, his parents, and brother Larry E. Stambaugh.
Bill is survived by his loving children, Neal Stambaugh (Krista), Lana Stambaugh (John), Scott Stambaugh (Amy); two grandchildren, Brooke and Macy Stambaugh; two Siblings, Allen Stambaugh, and Glenda Smith; as well as many other friends and family members who will cherish his memory.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 11, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, Ky. 41051. A masonic service will be held at 6:45 PM with the funeral service to follow. Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 12, 2021, at Shannon Cemetery, 5782 US Highway 62. Mayslick, KY 41055
