Obituary of Kaye Ellis
Norma Kaye Greene Ellis, age 84, of Erlanger, KY, saw Jesus face-to-face, and her faith became sight on Monday, November 8, 2021. She was a retired Bookkeeper for Economy Auto Parts in Cincinnati, OH and a member of Erlanger Baptist Church for more than 58 years. Kaye had a fierce faith, saw the potential in every life, and loved people. Whether she was serving as a church youth worker, high school senior girls’ Sunday school teacher, serving on mission trips, cooking for others, or opening her pool to the neighborhood kids to provide a safe, loving environment, she shared her walk with Jesus to make a difference in the lives of others. Kaye’s pool was legendary, as she hosted events every time an opportunity presented itself. It was her happiest ministry. She delighted in hospitality toward anyone who wanted to visit, hosting Youth Groups, Women’s Missionary Union groups, and more recently young mothers with small children. She also enjoyed traveling (preferring back roads by car), shopping, and spending time with her family. She loved planning a road-trip and showed up at music, ministry, or athletic events from Oklahoma horse shows to Florida cheerleading competitions. Her parents, Woodrow and Georgia Henry Greene; sister, Rheda Harper; and brother, Larry Greene, all preceded her in death. Left to carry on her legacy are her children, Rusty Ellis (Laura), Rand Ellis, Rod Ellis (Jackie), and Richey Ellis (Jenny); grandchildren, Jeremy Ellis (Lauren), Katelyn Courtney (Keith), Rachael Rowan (James), Emily McGill (Danny), Parker Kenney, Catherine Ellis, Emily Ellis, Levi Ellis, Aminta Ellis, Sam Ellis, Israel Ellis, and Chago Ellis; great grandchildren, Elijah Ellis, Julia Ellis, Audrey Ellis, Evangeline Ellis, Haylee Courtney, Reese Courtney, Kyra Reinzen, Ricky Reinzen, Alexandra Rowan, Amethyst Rowan, A.J. Rowan, Lily McGill, Eli McGill, and Sadie McGill. Visitation will be Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Erlanger Baptist Church, 116 Commonwealth Ave., Erlanger, KY 41018. Her funeral service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at New Bethel Cemetery in Verona, KY. Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Walton is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the “Kaye Ellis Ministry Fund” which will provide scholarships for mission trips and ministry education, c/o Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051 or by clicking on the red donate button below.
