Obituary of Dorothy H. Rison

     Dorothy H. Rison, 93 of Independence died Sunday, November 7 at Rosedale Green, Covington. 
     Dorothy was born on November 14, 1927, to the late Ernest A. and Viola May (Blackwell) Henderson of Cynthiana. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Marion, daughter Faye Britsch and son Dr. Allan Rison. 
     Dorothy was a graduate of Oddville High School in Harrison County and worked 17 years for the IRS in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dorothy was an avid reader and gardener. She loved reading novels and the daily newspaper. She loved tending to her gardens, and her dedication to them was evident in their beauty. She also loved to travel, spending summers in Florida, or with family at their Camp on the Ohio River. 
     Dorothy is survived by her five grandchildren, Ian (Lora) Rison, London, KY, Matthew (Jamie) Britsch, Savannah, Georgia, Jenn Deluca, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Hudson (Susan) Rison and Ryan (Allison) Rison both of Louisville; six great grandchildren, Quinn and Ella Rison, Brady and Eleanor Britsch, and Jack and Vinny Deluca; as well as her son in law, Al Britsch, Pawleys Island, South Carolina. 
     A special thanks to her caregivers, the staff at Rosedale Green for the love and support that they have shown to Dorothy over the past few years. 
     A graveside service will be held for Dorothy at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Taylor Mill, KY, on Monday, November 15 at 1:00 pm. 
     In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to The ALS Association, to honor Faye Britsch, South Carolina Chapter, 130 Gardeners Circle, PMB 622, Johns Island, South Carolina 29455.
