Obituary of James Reynolds
James C. “Jim” Reynolds passed away this month at the age of 87. Originally from Waynesburg, KY he was born to the late Russell & Dessie (Burke) Reynolds. After 4 years of college and a 3 year stint in the Army, he returned to his native Lincoln County to teach high school, develop a Driver Ed program, and coach basketball.
Moving to NKY in the early 70’s for job opportunities, he worked two decades for Mason & Dixon Truck Lines, then another 15 years for C&J Trucking, and M&K Express, recording 2.5 million accident free miles. He was a 45 year member of Heritage Fellowship in Florence, including a 15 year span serving on the Heritage board. He was also fondly known among fellow employees and friends for a severe & unquenchable love of black coffee. In latter years, he is remembered to have Reserve Seating at Skyline, Fillmore’s, Waffle House, White Castle and Cookie’s Diner, where him and his friends solved the world’s problems on a daily basis, and dispensed free advice to any brave enough to listen in.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, and one son – Jerry Reynolds, 4 brothers & 2 sisters. Those remaining are 3 sons, Joe (Rhonda) Reynolds, Jeffrey of TX; Cody of Somerset; one brother Donald (Evanda) Reynolds of Taylor Mill, and 9 Grandchildren - Kayla, Alyssa & Jasmine, Stefan, Stephanie, Griffin, Tristan, Reagan and James.
Visitation will be at Heritage Fellowship on Sat, Nov 20th at 2pm, funeral service to follow at 3:30. In lieu of flowers, please direct any donations to Heritage Fellowship Church/Jim Reynolds.
