Obituary of John Joseph Greene

John Joseph Greene, age 57, passed away after an extended illness on December 6, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lawrenceburg, IN.  John was born June 2, 1964 to Howard and Mary Ellen (Kowaski) Greene in Cincinnati, OH.

John will be remembered as a fighter.  He possessed a strong will and no matter what life threw at him, he never gave up and he never let anything bother him. He was an avid fisherman. There was no lake or river that he wouldn’t cast a line into! John had an amazing sense of humor. He had an innate love for the mechanical and enjoyed taking things apart only to put them back together again. John also loved working on model cars and painting.   A  cherished husband, brother, son, dad and “Pepaw”-- John treasured spending time with his family, who he loved very much.

Preceding him in death are his son Brandon Greene; parents Howard and Mary Ellen Greene; brother Donnie Kowaski; and father-in-law Mike Smith.  Those beloved ones left behind to mourn his loss are his children Joseph Richards, Mary Juilfs (Michael), and Micah Woody; grandson Marc “Pistol” Juilfs; former wife and mother of his children Berthena Vance; mother-in-law Mary Smith; sister-in-law Rhonda Smith; siblings Mary Obermeyer (Mike), Marie Stump (Joe), Barbie Ortiz, Judy Darling, Peggy Greene, Sheila Beagle, Timmy “B.J.” Greene (Brenda); as well as many other relatives and dear friends.

A visitation will be held for John on Saturday December 18^th at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 8461 Dixie Hwy, Florence, KY 41042.  The family will receive guests and friends from 2-4pm.  A memorial service will follow directly at 4pm on the same day at the funeral home.
