Obituary of Arnold Dwight Shelley
Arnold Dwight Shelley, 83, of Independence, KY was called home by the Lord on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, KY. He was born on February 7, 1938 in Williamsburg, KY to the late Francis Shelley and Edith Lester Shelley.
Arnold married his high school sweetheart, Patricia, and they shared 62 years of marriage together, He retired from Signode Corporation in Florence, KY where he was employed for 31 years. Arnold was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church in Covington, KY. He enjoyed vacationing on Kentucky Lake and was an avid UK basketball fan. Arnold loved the outdoors where he spent lots of time hunting and fishing. His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his family who will miss him dearly.
Arnold is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Ann; children, Yvonne (Ed) Masters, Shari (Michael) Lotspeich and Dwight Shelley; grandchildren, Amanda (Garrett) Daniels, Zachary Lotspeich, Marcus Turner, Jonathan Lotspeich, and Jacob Lotspeich; brothers, Lenville Shelley of Marrow, OH, Clifford (Lola) Shelley , Lester (Wanda) Shelley and Robert (Karen) Shelley all of Williamsburg, KY; one sister, Anna (Wes) Bowlin of Emlyn, KY and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Arnold is preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Starke; sister in laws, Lois Shelley, Juanita Shelley, Lillian Shelley; brothers, Glen Shelley, Gorman Shelley, Herbert Shelley, Morris Shelley and one great grandson, Walker James Daniels.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 17, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Senior Associate Pastor David Grahm from Calvary Baptist Church of Covington will be officiating the service. Interment will follow at the Independence Cemetery in Independence, KY.
