Obituary of Eugene "Gene" Paul Martin
Eugene “Gene” Paul Martin, 87, passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Tapestry Senior Living in Springboro, OH. Eugene was born the son of the late Gobel and Eva Martin in Covington, KY on May 9, 1934.
Gene worked for General Electric in the aviation division for 38 years. Gene and his wife Mae were long time members of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. Currently, they had been attending Hillcrest Baptist Church in Carlisle, OH where they have lived over the past 12 years. He loved the outdoors where he spent much of his time on his farm in Piner, KY. Gene had a passion for horses and riding. He loved fishing and boating at Lake Cumberland when he had the time. His greatest joy, however, were his family and grandkids who will miss him beyond measure.
Gene is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Wilson (Mary) Martin, Audrey Martin, Ruby (Elmer) Randall and Raymond (Ruby) Martin.
Those left here to carry on his legacy are his loving wife of 68 years, Zadah “Mae” Martin; children, Timothy (Deana) Martin, Leanne (Michael) Gervase, Scott (Buffie) Martin; twelve grandchildren, Amy, Adam, Andrew, James, Destiny, Kayden, Izack, Lily, Violet, Zavyr, Richard, and Thea; nine great grandchildren, Ariella, Gavin, AJ, Aaron, Eva, Haylee, Peyton, Alani, Leah and one four-legged friend, Piper and many other close friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Hickory Grove Baptist Church 11969 Taylor Mill Rd, Independence, KY 41051. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 PM. Gene will then be laid to rest at Independence Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made in Gene’s name to Hillcrest Baptist Church 820 Central Ave, Carlisle, OH 45005 or to Hickory Grove Baptist Church 11969 Taylor Mill Rd, Independence, KY 41051
