Obituary of Barbara A. Ball

     Barbara A. Ball, 83, of Independence, KY, passed away Friday, March 4, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, KY. The daughter of Leon H. and Susie {Slingsby} Dyer, Barbara was born in Staten Island, New York on February 5, 1939.

     She married the love of her life, Major Thompson Ball Sr. and they were together for 56 years. He passed away on April 10, 2016.

     In her earlier years, she was passionate about woodworking with her husband, crocheting, painting, and completing crossword puzzles. She was a very traditional homemaker, and loved to spend time with her family, especially her five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Barbara also enjoyed her several pets over the years.

     Those left to carry on Barbara’s legacy are her beloved children, David (Nancy) Ball, Major “Jay” Ball Jr. (JoAnne Winstel), and Daniel “Danny” (Charlene) Ball; brother Wendell “Butch” Dyer; grandchildren Stacie (Tom) Millas, Jessica Ball (Eric Worley), Zachary Ball, Joshua “Josh” (Rachel) Ball, and Kathryn “Katie” (Cameron) Kisselbaugh; and one great-grandchild Atticus Kisselbaugh.

     Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; husband Major Thompson Ball Sr.; siblings Charlier Dyer, Mabel Boone, Betty Kardentz, Harry, Walter, Leon “Junior”, and Robert Dyer.

     Visitation will be held between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2022, at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike Independence, KY 41051.
