Obituary of Louis F. Martin Jr.

     Louis F. Martin Jr., 76, of Independence, KY, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, March 5, 2022. The son of the late Adah {Pike} and Louis Franklin Martin Sr., Louis was born in Covington, KY on September 20, 1945.

     Louis married the love of his life, Joan {Hudkins} on October 7, 1967.

     He retired after 35 years of service as a Master Electrician at CSX Railroad.

     In his earlier years, Louis enjoyed traveling with his wife and taking his family on vacations. A handyman, Louis was passionate about construction, carpentry and technology. He loved to watch all movies, but he most of all loved spending time with his grandbabies.

     He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 54 years, Joan Martin; sons Michael (Melissa) Martin, Christopher Martin (Cindy Lee), and Douglas Martin (Sheila Boggs); grandchildren Morgan, Jordan, Even, Aubrie, and Brady; great-grandchildren Cadi and Serena; sisters Mae Martin and Phyllis (Charles) Proud.

     Louis was preceded in death by his parents, brother Edward Martin, and sister Barbara Butt.

     Visitation will be held between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Friday, March 11, 2022 at St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church, 5313 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. Louis’ Funeral Mass will begin immediately after visitation. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
