Obituary of Edward "Big Ed" Faehr
Edward “Big Ed” Faehr, 81, of Morning View, KY, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, March 14, 2022. The son of the late Margaret {Herzog} and Alex Faehr, Big Ed was born in Covington, KY on October 19, 1940.
Ed married the love of his life, Shirley Juanita {Johnson} on November 21, 1964.
He retired after 26 years of service as First Sgt. from the United States Army and retired after 28 years as Mail Carrier from the United States Post Office.
In his spare time, you would find Ed golfing and enjoying horse racing, his favorite track being the Keeneland Race Track. In his earlier years, he enjoyed raising beagles.
Those left to carry on Ed’s legacy would be his beloved wife of 57 years, Shirley Juanita Faehr; children Edward Allan Faehr II and Shannon Melea Heeg; siblings Norma Thompson, Ronald (Mary) Faehr, and Lexis Skalsky; his two grandchildren, Mason Thomas and Melea Anne Heeg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers, Robert and David Faehr.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 21, 2022 between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike Independence, KY 41051.
