Obituary of Russell L. Banks, Sr.

     Russell L. Banks, Sr., of Florence, KY passed away after a lengthy illness on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Hospice of Cincinnati at Anderson Inpatient Care Center in Anderson, OH at the age of 73.

     He was born in Covington, KY on May 20, 1948; the son of the late Russell Grant Banks and Christine Roland. Russell was a proud United States Air Force Veteran and retired from the military as a Master Sergeant. In his spare time, Russell loved to work on automobiles, from classic cars to newer vehicles. He also enjoyed bowling and was part of many leagues. He and his wife were part of the team “The Natural Disasters” where they went under the names “Thunder” and “Lightning”.

     Preceding Russell in death was his daughter, Tamara Banks.

     Those left surviving to carry on Russell memory include his loving wife of 51 years, Beverly Banks; daughter, Scenaie Banks; son, Russell L. Banks, Jr.; siblings, Richard Banks, William Banks, Estella Frazier and Rosalind Basey; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

     A Gathering of Friends celebrating Russell’s life will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 8461 Dixie Highway, Florence, KY 41042. A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

     In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the family c/o Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home.
