Obituary of Jewell H. Pettit

Jewell H. Pettit of Covington, age 91, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 21, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, KY. She was born on February 23, 1931 to the late John and Bessie Harris in Kenton County, KY. Jewell enjoyed spending her time reading her bible, but most of all she enjoyed being a mother and grandmother. She had a big heart, strong faith, and a door that was always open to anyone. She had a calling to help any one she could whether it was a hot meal, place to rest their head, or a shoulder to cry on. Jewell had the ability to make any house a home with her kindness, gentle touch, and her warm and welcoming presence. She loved her family with every ounce of her being. Jewell also loved animals, especially her dog, Fluffy. She will surely be missed beyond measure.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Pettit, Sr.; daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” Beach; son, Joseph “Joe” Pettit; grandson, Scott A. Pettit; and great-grandchild, Demetriana Pettit.

Survivors include her children, Charles “Chuck” (Jeanne) Pettit, Jr., Anthony “Tony” (Gayle) Pettit, Robert “Bob” (Lori) Pettit, Sr., and Timothy “Tim” (Leslie) Pettit; sister, Mary Lou Sanders; grandchildren, Bobbie Jo Pettit, Elizabeth Pettit, Megan (Anthony) McMurray, Robert (Mandy) Pettit, Jr., and Hannah Pettit; great-grandchildren, Owen Pettit, Caleb Pettit, Alex Pettit, Allison Pettit, and Julia Pettit; as well as other friends and relatives who will cherish her memory.

A visitation for Jewell will be held on Monday, March 28, 2022 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 3227 Dixie Hwy, Erlanger, KY 41018. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM inside the chapel at Forest Lawn. Immediately following the service, Jewell will be laid to rest next to her husband.
