Obituary of Mollyann Childers
Mollyann Childers, 88, passed away while enveloped in the love of family at Emerald Trace, Elsmere, KY on March 23, 2022. Born to Russell and Marie (Schwall) England, she was a life-long resident of Independence.
As a homemaker, she never truly retired. Loving and caring for her family and those around her was paramount in Mollyann’s life. She was a kind and compassionate person who consistently thought of others before herself. During family functions, she was always the very last to sit down and enjoy a meal with those she loved. A prolific canner and a frugal model of self-reliance; meals were very often from Mollyann’s own garden. She adored being outside and in nature; taking in a walk or a hike whenever she could. In her later years, she was able to spend a lot of quality time with friends and her husband in Venice, FL, where she was an expert beachcomber (her specialty was recovering shark’s teeth!). She was deeply cherished and will be dearly missed.
Those left here on earth to carry on Mollyann’s legacy and cherish her memory are her two sons, Adam Childers (Lisa) and Jeff Childers (Lois); grandchildren Clint, Georgia and Ashley; her great-grandchildren Embry and Devlin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Kenneth D. Childers and brother JR England.
A gathering of friends will be held on Monday, March 28, 2022 at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY, 41051. The family will receive guests from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm.
Directly following the gathering, Mollyann will then be laid to rest and reunited with her husband at Independence Cemetery, 5358 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051.
