Obituary of Cathy Lynn Stallings

Cathy Lynn Stallings, 56, of Cynthiana, KY passed away peacefully enveloped in the love of family and friends at St. Elizabeth Hospice, Edgewood, KY on Saturday, April 9, 2022.  Born on April 15, 1965 in Covington, KY, she was a retired teaching assistant for Kenton County Public Schools. Cathy touched the hearts and minds of many students at many different schools within the county during her tenure.   A woman of enduring faith, she was a longtime member of 7 Hills Church in Florence, KY.  When she wasn’t working, she could be found tending to her flowers or scrapbooking. She was also a prolific photographer, with a camera always in hand to capture a precious moment. Cathy cherished time with her family and close friends and loved “her girls” Doxie and Bitty.

Those left to carry on Cathy’s love and light are her children Cherlyn Benningfield (Scott) and Gary Stallings, Jr. (Will);  mother Judy (Baker) Harney; siblings Gary Lee Harney (Stacey), Angela (Harney) Roberts (Billy); grandchildren Gracie Benningfield and Cody Stallings as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.  Cathy was preceded in death by her grandparents Clyde and Thelma (Watson) Baker and grandmother Helen Collins as well as her beloved husband, Gary E. Stallings.

A visitation will be held for Cathy at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY on Wednesday, April 13, 2022.  The family will receive guests from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Directly following the visitation at 12:00 PM a funeral service will continue the celebration of Cathy’s life. Cathy will  then be laid to rest privately at the convenience of the family.  You can donate to St. Jude’s Research Hospital in Cathy’s name en lieu of flowers or other gifts of sympathy by visiting their website. Donation envelopes will also be available at the funeral services. Please wear purple to the services if you are able as it was Cathy’s favorite color.
