Obituary of Carl Owen Mucha
Carl Owen Mucha, of Union, KY passed away surrounded by his loving family at his residence on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at the glorious age of 84.
He was born in McKees Rocks, PA, on August 23, 1937, the son of the late Samuel Mucha and Virginia (Anderson) Mucha. Carl proudly served his country in the United States Army. After the military, Carl continued his civilian career at Ohio Bell as a splicer. Talented and hard-working, he was esteemed by many at the company. He moved up into corporate leadership and after 37 years of dedicated service, he retired. Carl regularly attended First Church Of Christ in Burlington, KY. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling to Florida, woodworking, and fishing. His greatest joy, however, came from spending time with his family.
Preceding Carl in death were his parents and his beloved son, Jay Owen Mucha. Those left surviving to carry on Carl’s legacy include his devoted and loving wife of 64 years, Jane Mucha; children Joan (Dr. Michael) Miller, Jill (Donald) Stinson, Jeff (Lori) Mucha; grandchildren Jamie Miller Buchanan (Aaron), Shaunie Miller, “A.C.” (Kasey) Stinson, Allie Stinson, Haley Mucha, Nicholas Mucha; great-grandchildren Caleb Stinson, Tate Stinson and Brady Buchanan; dear friend Joan Orford; as well as many close friends and co-workers.
A visitation celebrating Carl’s life will take place from 12:00PM until 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 8461 Dixie Highway, Florence, KY 41042. Directly following the visitation, a funeral service will be held. Carl will then be laid to rest with full military honors at Union Rice Cemetery, Union, KY.
