John was one of my closest friends from about age 6 until he left for the Air Force about age 20. We worshiped together, played at the YMCA, ran track together, hiked often and once hopped on the Smoky Mountain Railroad Train early one morning. The railroad which ran from Knoxville to Sevierville was a great ride as we lay on top of an old box car watching the sun rise over the Smoky Mountains. We had other adventures also which bring back great memories of our youth. John, rest in peace always as your work is finished here. May God bless you always. I will always have the fondest memories from our friendship and our youth together. Peace. Jerry Long
