Asher Cox, 84, of Corbin, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022 at Florence Park Care Center. The son of the late Mattie {Hensley} and Samuel Cox, Asher was born in Pineville, KY on June 24, 1937.

Asher was an assembly worker for 20 years at General Electric and retired after 20 years of service at General Motors. He loved to garden, and he enjoyed watching sports.

He will be deeply missed by his sons Donald Gene (Tammi), Michael Wayne (Ana), and David Asher (Julie) Cox; grandchildren Brandon Pierce, Ryan Michael, Christian Matthew, Erica Brooke, Jessica Paige, and Rebecca Claire Cox; and sister Edith Cox Lefevers.

Asher was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margie Cox; brothers James, Christopher, Willie, and Samuel Cox Jr.; and sisters Mossie Johnson, Julie Perkins, Lissie Engle, Ivel Cox, and Lillian Robinson.

Private services will be held at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. Asher will be laid to rest at Pineville Cemetery. For online condolences, please visit the corresponding tabs on this page.
