Obituary of Charlotte Helton

Charlotte Helton, 96, of Independence, KY, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 19, 2022. The daughter of the late Minnie {Yeary} and Alton Parker Burke, Charlotte was born in Dayhoit, KY on February 21, 1926. 

In her younger years, Charlotte enjoyed sewing, crafting, and vacationing with her son Bob. She obsessed over family photos and collected Elvis Presley memorabilia. In her later years, she loved coloring in her Strawberry Shortcake books. 

Charlotte will be deeply missed by her four children, Bobby Helton, Minnie Jean Johnson, Chuck Helton, and Peggy Crouch; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband Billy Helton; four children Jack Helton, Sue Marthaler, Shirley Dailey, and Dusty Helton; brother Earl Burke; and sister Ruth Williams. 

Visitation will be held between 9 AM and 10 AM on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike Independence, KY 41051. A funeral service will follow immediately after visitation at the funeral home. Charlotte will be laid to rest at Independence Cemetery.
