Bonnie was genuinely dedicated to the community with her voluntary service. She "pioneered" the first art experience in Independence with the Rosemary school of dance in the Independence fire station. She got involved in the the high school marching band and led the majorettes and rifle team, and even helped coach the football players! I remember Bonnie as my ballet mentor, but she taught me much more. She gave me my first job, for which I am forever grateful of her trust and confidence in me. I studied with her at Mrs. Lawrence's school of dance in Cincinnati, and the conservatory at Cincinnati. Bonnie was the first person to bring this opportunity to our community, and she did it with love and compassion. I saw Bonnie give ballet costumes to families she knew couldn't afford to pay for them, Bonnie sacrificed many long hours getting prepared for performances and band competitions, taking classes and leading many rehearsals. She did it on a carafe of coffee and a Big Boy fish patty. Bonnie was a hard worker, dedicating her time and talents, but her greatest love and devotion was to her girls and her family. Rest in peace Bonnie, and may you have endless fouettés in heaven with the angels.
