Obituary of Pete Smith Sr.

Pete Smith Sr., 61, of Owen County, KY, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at Carroll County Memorial Hospital. The son of the late Barbara {Klein} and Luther Smith Sr., Pete was born in Mariemont, OH on April 13, 1961.

Recently Pete enjoyed truck driving over the road with his wife. In his spare time, Pete loved to drive his racecars and motorcycles. He was a diligent worker, a prankster, and Pete always lent a helping hand to anyone in need.

Those left to carry on Pete’s legacy are his loving wife of 35 years, Linda Smith; children Loretta Smith and Pete (Christina) Smith Jr.; grandchildren Breianna, Brayden, Brentley, and Bryer; siblings Lou Ann Duvall, Barbara Smith, Mary Fulton, William “Bill” (Marilyn) Smith, Luther “Bubby” (Kim) Smith Jr., Debora Young, and Christy (Ted) Smith-Steward; and many nieces and nephews.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Bryleigh Smith, grandson William Scott Smith, and brother David Smith.

A visitation will be held between 5 PM and 7 PM with a memorial service starting at 7 PM on Monday, July 18, 2022, at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 8461 Dixie Hwy Florence, KY 41042. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Smith family in c/o Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home.
