Obituary of Donald Harry Nienaber

Donald Harry Nienaber, age 83, of Independence, passed away Friday, September 30, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood, KY.  He was a retired Union Carpenter for Valley Interior Systems and Local Union #2, a U.S. Army Veteran, a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, where he attended daily, and a former member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Independence, KY.  Don enjoyed playing golf and cards (especially euchre) with his friends, and spending time with his brother, Tom, going to weddings and graduations and other important family events for his extended family throughout the years.  Don was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Cecilia O’Bryan Nienaber, parents, Harry & Hazel Nienaber, twin brother, Ron Nienaber, and sister, Jo Ann Meyers.  He is survived by his children, Steve Nienaber and Karen C. Nienaber Kleiner, grandchildren, Jonathan Kleiner and Amy Kleiner, and brother, Tom Nienaber.  Visitation will be Tuesday, October 18, 2022, from 12 noon to 2 p.m. with Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 2 p.m. at St. Patrick Church, 3285 Mills Rd., Taylor Mill, KY 41015.  Private interment will be at Mother of God Cemetery in Latonia, KY.  Memorials may be made to the St. Patrick Church Building Fund.  For directions or to leave condolences to the family, please go to www.chambersandgrubbs.com.
