Obituary of Edward H. Helmer

Edward H. Helmer, 92, of Piner, died Saturday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. He was a farmer and a member of All Saints Church, Walton. His first wife, Rosella Worthington Helmer, preceded him in death. Edward Helmer Survivors include his wife, Nancye O'Brien Helmer; daughters, Rose Ann Whisley of Mesa, Ariz., Carolyn Franxman and Melinda Franxman, both of Piner, Martha Pearce of Walton, and Mary Jo Huber of Scottsdale, Ariz.; sons, Mark Helmer of Florence, Mike Helmer of Crittenden and Pat Helmer of Verona; a stepdaughter, Anita McCormick of Campbell County; stepsons, Pat O'Brien of Lexington, John O'Brien of Leitchfield; sisters, Frances Grogan of Fort Wright, Agnes Staverman of Erlanger, Dorothy Voskuhl of Crescent Springs and Evelyn Couch of Edgewood; 20 grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 12 step-great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at All Saints Church, Walton. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Walton. Burial will be in St. Cecilia Cemetery, Independence. Memorials are suggested to St. Charles Care Center, 500 Farrell Drive, Covington, Ky. 41011.
