Obituary of John Wesley Ryle

John Wesley Ryle, 92, of Williamstown, KY and formerly of Rabbit Hash, passed away Friday, October 7, 2022, at home surrounded by his loving family. The son of the late Stella {Stephens} and John S. Ryle, John was born in Belleview, KY on August 16, 1930.

John served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He retired as a Lock Master from the US Corps of Engineers. He was a member of the American Legion Florence Post, he enjoyed working in his garage, watching UK sports, morning walks, dining at Cracker Barrel, and loved being on the river.

John gave his life to Christ and was baptized at his home at the age of 89.

Those left to carry on John’s legacy are his daughter Pamela (Denver) Hacker; grandsons Chris (Mandy) Barker and Daniel (Diana) Barker; and great-grandchildren Kristen, Marissa, Coleman, Olivia, and Stetson Barker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Vincent Ryle, and sister Lona Lee Childers.

Visitation will be held between 10 AM and 12 PM Wednesday, October 12th with the funeral service immediately following at 12 PM all at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 8461 Dixie Hwy Florence, KY 41042. John will be laid to rest at East Bend Cemetery in Rabbit Hash, KY where military honors will be held. Memorial donations may be made to East Bend Cemetery at 10901 Victory School Rd.
